This weekend... . . .

Taking a little break from working our behinds off! We are busy trying to get enough product for the 4th of July show in Crescent City. There is an estimated 20,000 people going. So hopefully we will bring enough handmade goodness with us! Hopefully it doesn't rain, or we will be the bubble booth and not the soap booth!

Just today we have bottled over 100 bottles of Lotion! This week is going to be tough, we have been going down at night, to try and get everything done.

What are you doing for the 4th? Anything exciting? Let us know!

Scent, flavors, whatever you call them!

We call our scents.... flavors. I don't know why, but it just sounds better to say " we have over 50 flavors of soap". Well at least more fun to say that LOL.

So we have some new "flavors" some that aren't even on the shelves in the store yet, but they will be out for the weekend events!

Also just a little note about the hand balms and baby balm, for the summer, we will not being doing them in the flower mold, in case melting occurs. If your balm has melted in transition, please stick it in the fridge or freezer and it will harden back up. If you have a sunburn, stick it in the freezer for a nice relief!

Our new exciting flavors are: (some of you have smelled some of these already or saw us post them, but we are listing them here anyways since they are new to us this year)
Candy Land
Siskiyou Sunrise
Monkey Farts
Blackberry Apple
Mango Daiquiri
Kiwi Melon
Strawberry Mojito
Berry Smoothie
Strawberry Truffle
Almond Joy
Beer Soap
Coffee Mocha
Guavaberry
Lavender Vanilla

I think that is it... for now. I might have missed 1 or 2 because we have been making soap like mad for the 4th of July events. We are trying to get organized and make sure we have enough product and anything else we will need.

Please feel free to ask us questions about our products.

Fun Stuff

Wow so much fun stuff going on with Yreka Soap we decided to blog about it and put it all in one place!

Right now you can have a chance to win some Yreka Soap products! The first is through Penny Pinching Polly's Summer Celeberation giveaway. Here is the link http://penny-pinching-polly.blogspot.com/p/celebrating-summer-fan-appreciation.html

The second way is by simply Donating, even $1.00 for Dylan Frick. He is a 10 year old boy, who has touched to many lives in just a short few weeks. Dylan has been diagnosed with a Brain Giloma on his brain stem. It is quite advanced and inoperable. We have been thinking so much about the Frick family. No one should have to go through this. We had a similar close call with my nephue around the same age, but luckily it wasnt cancer, and they were able to remove the tumor. So for just donating 1.00 you will be entered to win some goodies from us. Also Kristina Bates is giving a scentsy bar to the winner. We know times are tough, but even $1.00 can go a long way. Right now you have a great shot at winning! You can come into our store and donate or you can click this link and follow the instructions https://spreadsheets.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dFEwVmw1a2VtVVI3Wm9jUHF0X0ZJRFE6MQ

Did you know if everyone on our FB Fan page donated just $5.00 we could raise over $20,000.00 for him, that would be so amazing! Please pass it along if you know anyone who would love to donate!

1,000 Fan Celebration........
We are almost to 1,000 Fans! We aren't spilling the beans YET but... you won't want to miss it! Lets just say its going to be BIG!

If we hit 1,000 fans before July 4th, we will be celebrating on July 6th. The reason being is we will be in Crescent City selling our Awesome products over there! We are SOOO excited!
So we will be SUPER busy getting ready for this big event, but don't worry, not to busy to get back with any questions you have.

First Time For Everything

This is our First Blog and first Post! Sometimes the first time doing something is scary, well this isn't so scary, maybe just a little intimidating. So We will start off telling you who we, Yreka Soap Co is, and what we are all about.

Of course we are all about Soap and Bath products. Something you may not know is we do it all out of our Flower Shop. Yep, we have a flower/ gift shop. It is a big step up from our last store (it was about 10 ft by 10 ft store front) So we LOVE our huge store!

OK So who are we? Well the main boss lady would be my mom, Candy. She is the one who started it all about 30 years ago. We are formally known as Mott's Sweat Shoppe for the Soaps, but decided we needed a change, and came up with Yreka Soap Co. Mom is one of those people who can do anything. She use to sew baby clothes, and had her own shop selling those. She also has a talent of painting. She can take anything and make it look fabulous. She use to go around selling painted saws and T-shirts on one side of the booth and on the other would be barb wired wreaths and Bath Salts and Soap in the mix. So here she is now about 10 years later!

So know you know a little about mom, here I am. I am Kari. I am a nurse. I love my 2 kids and husband more than anything! I have always helped my mom with all the crafting things she has been into. I use to sleep under the tables at the craft shows.I started to really help her within the past 3 years with the soap part of the Business. We went from just selling in our store, e-bay and a few wholesale accounts, to... Having our own website, selling on Artfire.com, Etsy.com, and Zibbet.com . We sell all over the world (which is amazing) and we are almost to 1,000 fans on Facebook. I designed the website myself, yes its not perfect, but I have never done anything like that before. I am the person you will normally talk to via Facebook or E-mails.

As a team we work well together, well as well as a mother daughter relationship could LOL. So mom is the main soap maker. Well we really make everything together. The Soap takes a lot of time to make from start to what you see in your package or what your buying. From measuring out the ingredients, to making it, to pouring it into a mold. Then letting it dry for 24 hours to cut it, To let it dry for at least 4 weeks. Then after that we scrap it, and wrapping it and then labeling it.

We are so Lucky we have friends and other family members that help. One friend that helps all the time is Sandy! She is so fantastic! Our other little helpers range from 7 years old all the way to 21 months (he is the official soap sniffer). LOL

Well that should be good for our first post! Please let us know if you have any questions! Until next time, happy suds!
